Judith Bruneau / Percussion, Piano

. . Judy Bruneau is a high-energy musician who loves to teach. She began playing drums at age nine and was playing professionally by sixteen. Judy participated in marching band and drum corps and began studying piano as a teenager. She went on to study classical percussion at UMass in Amherst and started teaching privately as a junior in college. She moved to the DC metropolitan area soon after and was primarily a freelance musician, playing big band, chamber jazz, dixieland, rock, and orchestral music, eventually performing at the famed Ford’s Theatre.
. . Judy returned to New England in 1998 and resumed teaching. Currently she performs with many local theatre companies (ActorSingers, Stagecoach Productions, Community Players of Concord, etc..), and continues to play professionally at venues such as the Palace Theatre, Seacoast Repertory Theatre, Concord Audi, and the Capitol Center for the Arts.
. . A caring and supportive private teacher, Judy encourages new students to become well-rounded musicians by playing different musical styles and mastering important skills such as reading music, ear training, and music theory. Her teaching includes drum set, classical percussion (drums, accessory percussion, mallet instruments and timpani), and beginning/intermediate piano. Instruction in drum repair and maintenance is offered, and advanced students can take advantage of preparation for NH Allstate, music camps and college auditions.
. . Judy is available for group lessons, demonstrations, and workshops at schools and other educational facilities in the hopes of inspiring young people to explore drumming.

Each teacher has their own policies and schedule. Typical rates are $20-25 per half hour.
